DEWALT DW723 Miter Saw Stand at a very good price but delivered killed by UPS (Uniformly Poor Service)handling. Their people are as about as nice as the counter folks at the post office. This is the first such problem ever with an Amazon purchase and they acted quickly to correct it. One knob was broken, had adented leg and feet that appear used. No, the dewalt store had the same piece for the same price, in a factory sealed box, just plus state tax. Maybe that's why the good price. It was in an open box, resealed by a few pieces of tape. I figure I have about five hours of my time, and more.since I could not use the first one when it arrived, so the $219 with "free" shipping was not such a good deal.Is there an upside.yes.
Strangely the replacement was delivered pretty much the same way, only without the broken parts. Taking it back to UPS was a hassle. Would I do it again. I've had more than the tax in hassle. That's the way it was.
I am an avid home DIYer and I purchased this stand about two years back from Home Depot to mount my Craftsman 10" miter saw. Also, for most projects, the stand is actually a bit wider than is needed, but that hardly seems like something that should be a negative.I honestly would buy this stand again. (But it honestly was a nice, sturdy stand) I have a basement shop with stairs to the driveway and the MSUV was too heavy and bulky for my needs.
I purchased two extra mounts and two additional support/stops from Amazon to use with long boards and I mounted my portable tablesaw on the second set of mounts which allowed me to work comfortably on projects outdoors. The issue I do have with the stand is that the slide out extensions don't stay locked in the closed position very well when being stored. The mounts lined up perfectly with the saw and removing the saw from the stand is a breeze and beats kneeling down while I use the saw sitting in my driveway.
So, I test mounted the ridgid saw to the Dewalt stand, and haven't had an issue since. I upgraded to a Ridgid 12" compound mitersaw a few months back, and figured this stand wouldn't be steady enough with the larger saw, so I purchased the Ridgid MSUV. The Ridgid stand was much bulkier and way to heavy for my needs.
When you pick the stand up to move it, the extension slides out and usually bangs into the floor (or your foot) in the process.
The product is exactly what we were looking for and for a great price. The item shipped and arrived in a timely manner. we are pleased.
I bought this after seeing my brother's. He made an adapter plate for his Craftsman chop saw, so that he could use the DeWalt mounting clips for this table. I did the same with my Craftsman saw, and recently finished a back deck stairway using the saw and stand. What a dream of a tool; don't know how I could get along without one now.
The thing that I like most is that when you mount your saw to the detachable rails, you can take your saw off the the stand and still use it without taking off the rails because they have feet on the bottom of them. This is one nice piece of equipment. It is very easy to set up and tear down and very portable. Very solid and well made. I have a Bosch 12" non slider saw that fits it great. One nice thing is that if you have to extend the ends to support long stock, you can always buy more of the supports and put them between the saw and the end to support flimsy stock. They also sell the rails you mount to the saw separately in case you want to buy extra ones to mount just about any bench top tool. Dewalt did a good job on this one.
